While I completed a lot of different activities and projects during while in the MAET program, here you will find what I find the most useful and meaningful activities completed.

Technology Showcase

Completed during CEP 811, the STAIR project challenged us to create a stand-alone technology that would guide students as they learned. I created a PowerPoint presentation to guide students through the process of Lego Robotics, assessing their understanding along the way.

In CEP 815, the most valuable project (and also the summative project at the end of the course) was the Sustainable Technology Project. I created a technology that could be used for years with little to no cost to either the educator or the school.

The most difficult and (sometimes) frustrating course during MAET was CEP 822, which focused on research in education. While the course was challenging, my final project really showed me how much work goes into research and how research applies to my future endeavors in education.

Another project in CEP 815 was to make a visualization of a key concept covered in the course. Throughout the entire course, I found the idea of "instrumental vs. missional" thinking to be my most valued take-away.

Literacy in Science

TE 846

Although this course was not required for my Master's in Educational Technology, I decided to use what I had learned to create a more engaging representation of the literacy problems my students face in the science classroom!

Creating an LMS

CEP 820

Our task was to create a Learning Management System for our students to use. I created a unit that my 8th grade students completed using an LMS in Weebly, and still use today!

UPDATE: Weebly site no longer available

STAIR Project

CEP 811

In this activity, I created a Digital Storyboard to address a problem in my curriculum. Not only did I get to showcase my solutions, but I was able to work with iMovie and loved every minute of the experience!

A visual look at the people that I communicate professional with everyday, the topics we normally discuss and the ways in which we communicate. Together, they are referrred to as my Personal Learning Network and are vital to my success as an educator.
