All four of my science classrooms are set up to use Schoology on a weekly basis.

Within each of the classes, students will find information organized into unit folders for easy use!

Currently, I am using Schoology for quizzes and assessments only. As the year progresses, I hope to set up more features like discussion forums for collaboration!

The main page that students (and teachers) see when they login to Google Classroom. Student work is organized by class so it becomes more manageable for both students and teachers.

Inside each class, students will see their newsfeed that is updated throughout the week. This is where they can find their weekly assignments and homework. It even tells them their grade on assignments and reminds them when things are due!

The teacher version gives a quick snapshot to see if students are completing their work.

A rubric can be provided down at the bottom of each assignment, which allows communication between students and teachers. If students want to resubmit their assignment, they can use the rubric to see which areas need work.

It has never been easier to create charts and graphs in science! Students will import their data from the experiment into Google Sheets and visualize their data!

Giving feedback in science is essential for student growth. Google Apps allows for quick comments to be made by the teacher. When a student logs in, they can see the comments and fix their mistakes easily!

Google Apps
Students make use of several Google Apps for Education tools while using Google Classroom. All of the work completed for my science class is done using Google Docs and Spreadsheets. Students complete virtual lab documents and get quick feedback from me using the comments function. Students also create graphs using Spreadsheets using their data in science!
Schoology
Our second LMS that we are using this year is Schoology. At this time, we are using it solely for quizzes and tests because I really enjoy its ability for students to retake these assessments, as needed. In the future, I will begin uploading documents and have students collaborate in discussion forums on the LMS.
Google Classroom
Google Classroom is a new tool that is being used in my classroom for homework and classwork throughout the week. Students are placed into their "class" online, and I can deliver information to them, as well as assignments and homework assignments. Students turn the assignments in online, and they recieve feedback to help them improve their acheievement.

iPads in the Classroom
There are several advantages to using iPads in math and we use them daily in my math intervention course. Some apps let you draw math problems to solve on the projector (using AppleTV), while others offer games for math intervention. My students enjoy the interactive aspects that the iPads offer.

Used on a daily basis, I give students an iPad and they demonstrate how to do the problem using this app. Their work is projected to my SMARTboard using AppleTV.

Web 2.0 Tools
Since 2011, I have been implementing various Web 2.0 tools in my classroom. We started with a few tools and we've slowly been adding in new tools. We now use:
-
Google Apps
-
Prezi
-
PowToon
-
Twitter
-
KidBlog
-
Remind
-
Jing
-
Weebly

Students use Google Slides to create engaging presentations for Week 1 Expectations!

Students created PowToon videos to make expectations in class easier to understand and more engaging to watch!

We have used Prezi for several years to create more dynamic presentations in science!
